The hunt for read October

Last week, I wrote an ode to a breakfast burrito.
Later, I wondered, what is wrong with me?

Then, last weekend, The Husband went to pick up breakfast and McDonald's was OUT of breakfast burritos. ?!?!?!?!?! There is no substitution. Ode to Mickey D's Breakfast Burrito: Totally. Merited.

Moving on...

Ahhhhh, finally... The October is here! I think of this as the beginning of all the Fall fun. I put out my Fall decorations and I don't have nearly enough. So I went and bought some HUGE things of mums.

This is not actually them. Mine are littler, more orange-rust, fuller too and - therefore - the prettiest mums in the world.

I must say, I'm disappointed in this weekend's forecast. Last weekend was SO pretty with the Fall weather. It was a nice, easy weekend of cool weather and windows open. Hung out with Horace & Miss H. Had a great time and the puppies had a blast! But more on that later... This weekend? 88ยบ. Booooo. But, eh... Guess I'll take it. Hopefully it's not too hot to grill. The Hubs made use of his fancy birthday man-present and grilled all weekend. It spoiled me with uber-deliciousness.

Red hot.

We had burgers and hot dogs and chicken kabobs... A meat and greet if you will! Heh.

Something about Fall makes me want to cook. And of course, I'm always down to eat. Sunday afternoon, I made new potato soup...

With real bacon. Hello.

And last night, I made a ground turkey spaghetti with garlic and fresh basil that turned out mighty fine.

I placed a book in the pic to show off the fact that I can read. Literacy rulz!

Wheat pasta. You are good for me and "so tasty too". (That was for you, Dad ;)

Back to the beautiful Fall weekend, we dog sat for Lady B and her hubbers T. Miss Nellio, MJ, and Sugarbear were together almost all weekend and had a blast! Like when people get their kids together for play dates. Only you can throw dogs outside for hours on end and nobody calls CPS on you. (Thank you Teen Mom for teaching me what CPS stands for!)

All dogs love a Horace.

They played and played until they could not play no mo.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz"

"Zzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Except for one... "Play? How bout now? Now? How about I just bite your face a little?"

Good times were had by all. But enough about the weekend... On to this week! Hopefully more meals and reading on the book club book to come. Featured in the spaghetti pic, our book club is reading Shanghai Girls by Lisa See and I. Am. LOVING IT!!! I started it on Monday and am about 3/4 of the way through. Delish.

Also upcoming, The Hubs and I are looking forward to an engagement party on Friday. Congrats to S&J! About to join the world of wedded bliss. Speaking of wedded bliss, The Husband & I have our one year wedding churchiversary coming up on Sunday. We're going to eat some place fancy! I'll see if I can sneak pics. And, OF COURSE, 3 day weekend! Woo! Thank you, Christopher Columbus. In your face, Leif Ericson!

I think that about wraps it up for now. Love you, Bubblers! Almost as much as a tummy rub.
