Check out my mussels

Hello there, sports fans! Internet, did you see that Mississippi State/Kentucky game? It coulda have been great... Coulda been different. All I wanted was to see the look on John Calipari's face when he got a his hair grease handed to him. But, alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Sorta like me trying to talk sports.
What a great weekend. I had the most delicious time. Seriously... May I share?

Friday, we went had a lovely time celebrating a friend's birthday at a local seafood place that reopened. We had crab claws for appetizers. A little to breaded and not very meaty. Eh. I got two appetizers for my dinner. Fried scallops. Which were also too bready and not enough scallop. But then I had a big old plate of mussels that made it all worth it.

Like a pile of little presents. That you can eat. Yay!

It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. But all in all, with the tasty mussels and fun atmosphere, it was a pretty good time.

Saturday, we had wings. Yummy, messy wings! After consulting our State Farm representative about life insurance with The Husband, we treated ourselves to some BWWs. (My sister had texted me earlier that day that she was having wings and the wing seed was planted! Although, she likes the really spicy ones. And I can't hang with that. They're too hot for me and I'm extremely unattractive with hot foods. ) And we deserved it because that life insurance business – while necessary, blah blah blahhh – was b o r i n g. I had my faves. Traditional-style Caribbean Jerk & Asian Zing.

Just not the same without the bonesssss.

That night, we made some munchies and had a few folks over to watch the Grizz game with the Denver Nuggets. Among other things, we had a little turkey sausage and cheese plate. And I made a healthy version of my dad's famous 7 layer dip. (Substituted mashed black beans for refried beans. Avocado instead of guacamole.) I don't know if people didn't eat that much of it because they didn't like it. Or if they didn't eat that much of it because I ate most of it myself. Heh.

Our friends brought their beagle, Jack, over to play with Sugarbear so it was fun for the whole family.

Crazy ears are all the rage with the puppy crowd.

Think there's a treat somewhere off camera?

Gettin' it.

They had the best time and Sugarbear was exhausted. Little did she know she was in for more. The next morning, we got up and walked 3 miles with Jack and their other beagle friend, Nellie O. Then they went back and played all afternoon. I've never seen the dog so tired. She fell asleep sitting up in the car. Too funny. And then she crashed.

Dreaming of tennis balls and wiffle bats as far as the eye can see.

She was still tired this morning.

Oh, wait, there's a little more... Black & blue burger for dinner last night. Yummers!

Ima meat and fried potatoes type of girl.

So none of those food pics, perhaps obviously, were of the actual food. But me like pictures when I read things so there ya go. And I know most of that was not good for you but I did some tread milling and dog walking so don't you judge me. I judge you back for judging me when I was judging no one. Judgy McJudgersons. Judge Judy. Judy Jetson. Rosie the Robot.

Ahemmm.

Anyhoo, it was a lot of tasty fun. Then today for lunch, I had a Health Choice meal of pumpkin ravioli. And it was so disgusting I threw most of it away.

Tasted exactly how it looks. Blechhhh.

At least I have the memories of the weekend. And on with the week...

Should be a big one in my little corner of the world. Family dinner at the in-laws tomorrow. St. Patty's Day Wednesday. The Husband's got a play-off game Thursday. And then on to the weekend! (I think I'm going to see Alice in Wonderland – 3D!)

Happy Monday to you, Internet. Hope you're caught up on the whole time change thing. I'm not. I need a nap.
