NyQuil?
I hear you...
So Reba was absolutely terrific. She worked the stage and did some of the songs I really wanted to hear –
Fallin' Out of Love
Why Haven't I Heard from You
(Kelly Clarkson's) Because of You
The Greatest Man I Ever Knew
Medley that included For My Broken Heart
Strange
Somebody Should Leave
Does He Love You (with Lee Ann Womack)
And, of course, FANCY!!!
Reba was funny, charming, and even did a bit with one of her Reba co-stars (Barabara Jean AKA Melissa Peterson) that was hilarious. 5 thumbs up! I've slept in the overpriced t-shirt every night since then! Heh, like a little kid that wants to wear their Halloween costume to school everyday. Hmmm, I should probably briefly retire it though before the husband starts to question my personal cleanliness...
Lee Ann Womack was pretty good. Although pretty quick. (And I pretty much didn't mind b/c she was just icing on the cake.)
George, George, George... Ok, it's hard for me to judge this. Because George Strait was... I hate to say it, a little boring after the show Reba put on. He sounded great. Looked good and played a lot of songs. But he just missed the pizazz that the Reb-ster brought. The "it" factor, if you will.
All in all though, a great show.
So after the terrifical Reba concert on Thursday, the momentum continued with a great dinner with the heads of the Otey Abodey. (Shrimp Diavlo pizza... Eat it. Your insides will thank you.) And then Saturday morning was Mama Time!
We had a really wonderful visit. Although, I think the mom might have come more to see the dog than us...
The weekend was jam-packed with eating, shopping, movie watching, and lotsa quality chat stew. All over much too soon cuz we were having so much fun. *Sniff, sniff* BIG thanks to my mom for making the drive! It was great to have her. (And, heh, a good excuse to give the house a scrubbin'!.) And now I can't believe we're off and running on another Monday. They do come around so very often.
So, Internet, did you see the Oscars last night? I caught some of the ceremonies but not all. (My favorite part was Sandra Bullock's win & speech.) Seemed like big dresses were all the rage this year. And I LOVED it. I've posted my top 5 faves in no particular order.
Rachel McAdams. Love that she took a risk. I really couldn't decide if I liked it or not at first. And then I decided... I don't like it, I love it.
Sandra Bullock. This is what an Oscar winner looks like. The beading at the top, water falling into the gold lame at the bottom. Fab. U. Lous. Think this one's me fave.
Zoe Saldana. So different. There's a lot going on so I can see this not being every one's cup of tea. But it's like she bloomed diamonds out of a flower. Or something like that. Anyways, I liked.
Since I didn't see the ceremony in it's entirety, I got to avoid the big old bore I'm guessing it was. But, as it's been the last couple of years, the ladies are bringing the noise! Although not so much the funk.
I guess that's about it for today, Internet. Hope your Monday is treating you well. The house is quiet and a little sad after The Mom leaving. So The Husband and I are meeting friends out for Mexican. Because, Mexican food solves all problems! Or at least shrimp tacos do. And fajitas. And pour some guacamole on top. You'll be ok.
OMG Ingrid and Mexican food...LOVE IT!
