A little after I left, I got a call from my work friend saying that we weren't going to lose touch. She said that she's got my phone # and knows how to use it. It's hard to know your place in someone else's life when you're put together by work, not choice. So it was a happy moment to think that I can totally stay in contact with these people I spent the last 9 years with - even though I don't work there anymore.
All that to say, the ladies that lunch (aka The Finer Things Club) roll on!
I've been to Felicia Suzanne's before for a dinner and had some lovely scallops. So I've been dying to try their Friday lunch. (The only day they're open for lunch.) The ladies met last week for a Friday treat.
The interior is fun. Modern but vintage at the same time. Is that a thing? Our waiter was a bit of a ding-a-ling. We had to drag specials & sides info out of him. And he wasn't giving it up easily. Also, I had a sneaking suspicion that he forgot to put in our appetizer. But overall, no biggie.
Yes, since it was a special occasion - being back together on a Friday, of course - the occasion called for an appetizer! Crab cakes were calling. They were nice and crunchy on the outside and nice and crabby on the inside. (All too often there's too much filler and not enough crab.) And I looooved the pepper jelly.

Anita enjoyed it very much as well as the Nola bbq sauce for dipping.
Natalie got the sliders and they were adorable. Although my picture is not the best.

Natalie said they had a very nice flavor. I must say, I wish I had her restraint because she only ate one. Although I guess we DID have a basket of breads with butter before the crab cakes...
I had the shrimp po-boy.

The fries were good too. Nothing really special, but good. They go the extra mile and make their own ketchup. Which was not really ketchup except by pure definition. It was much sweeter and actually tasted better on the shrimp than the fries. The other ladies requested some "regular" ketchup. (I would have too but I knew if I did that, I would clean my plate of all the fries.)
Felicia Suzanne's lunch gets a thumbs up. Not really exciting or new. But sometimes if it ain't broke, just leave well enough alone. It was quality, tasty food that didn't disappoint. I can't wait to go back! And maybe next time I'll bravely order the short rib grilled cheese that was so highly recommended.
