A pretty good week so far... Overall

How's it going, Bubbleland!? Or should I say Temporarily-Renamed-Gobble-Gobble-Land? Turkey time, a week from tomorrow! The countdown is so on.

So, I just want you guys to know that my dreams are coming true. Well, maybe? I saw overalls at Target the other day...

Nice of someone to wear them in before they hit the rack

Are they coming back in style? We can only hope! I should have bought, like, 3 pairs. Love ovies. Hmmm, that's not going to catch on for a nickname... Too close to ovaries. Rallies? Nope. Really no good nickname for overalls. Anyhoo, love their delicious comfort and many pockets. LOVE.

Been doing a little cooking this week. I took my first stab at crab cakes.

Mmmm, looking just like they're supposed to

And then went to eat them and they fell apart.

Wah. Even the picture is bad.

I burnt them a little too. FAIL. Oh, well. The flavor was good. I'll have to try again. I shall not be deterred!

I also tried my hand at my first homemade lasagna. My friend, Tryko, was talking about lasagna quite a bit on Sunday after book club and it got me craving. Now I know you're asking yourself, how could a person get to be my age and never made a lasagna? (Bubbleland, you're so transparent when you wonder.) Answer: I dunno... Stouffer's can be delicious?

But not as delicious as this... Bam!

With homemade bread made by The Husband's Uncle
that The Mother-In-Law kindly shared with us

Turned out pretty tasty. And I needed a success under my belt after the crab cake massacre. It was also a lighter take on the recipe I had so that's always a bonus too.

The only downside to cooking

Other than the mess, fun times for the whole family! Well, except for the crab. Bah. And by "whole family" I mean The Hubs and I.

I would have eaten the crab cakes. Sad eyes.

Alright, Bubbleland. Mid-week check, everyone ok? Having a beautiful Fall week? Surprised to see me back so soon? I knowwwwww... I missed you too. Alright. Enough of this, I'm blushing.

  1. Thanks for the o-all tip, Beka. Mine from high school died two years ago, and I gave them proper burial at Bonnaroo. I went to the Gap to get another pair only to find they don't make them anymore. Snobs!
