Nothing but rain skies... Do I see

Hello, Internet!

Last week, I took some training in Flash. (Before you even ask, Internet, it did not involve any removing of clothing or a Ray Stephens song.) I learned some new techniques and enough about action scripts to make my brain try to slither out my ear.

Let's see, what else has happened in the meanwhile...

OH, how could I have even gotten this far without mentioning this!? You know how I wrote about some of my summer reading? Well, one of the authors, Loraine Despres – author of The Scandalous Summer of Sissy LeBlanc, must have some alerts set because she left a comment! Look back at May 10's post to see it. I was SO tickled!

Dear Ms. Depres –
Thank you for dropping by! I'm almost done with the book and, appropriately, have been enjoying it in the tub. Loving the characters and have been trying to decide who I would like to play Sissy in the movie... I'm thinking an Ashley Judd type. (If you could get her to eat burger so she's a little curvier.) Can't wait to find out what happens next. She's got to go with Parker over the toad, right? The whole Bourrée debacle explained A LOT and caught me by surprise. And I'm ready to for Clara to out her pops. We'll see!
Sincerely,
B

Oh, summer reading. Love it! Especially after The Secret History by Donna Tartt. I really enjoyed it but I had to cleanse my palate with quite a bit of lighter fare to get over that craziness.

Speaking of palates, I had a treat for mine today. I woke up feeling very Monday and then that huge hailing, thunderstorm rolled through. And I just could NOT deal with another Lean Cuisine lunch today because it would have broken my spirit an depressed me emotionally. So obviously, I got the Santa Fe wrap from Elliott's on Second –

Mmmm... I wish I could eat it again

It was just what the doctor ordered and I highly recommend Elliott's to those who haven't been. If you need some different medicine, the gyros are also delish and their cheeseburgers fix broken bones.

Oh, food. It was a great weekend for eating. Friday, Buffalo Wild Wings. Saturday, Sharky's. (Although I must say, it wasn't quiiiiiite what I hoped for. Eh, but but I do love seafood. Mussels. Yum.) Yesterday, we cooked out with friends. I got some ribs that didn't have any bones and looked more like fillets than anything else. Slightly mysterious but they were quite tasty. After they finally cooked. Oh, and Sugarbear got to play with her friend too!

Gee, I wonder – could there be a treat somewhere off camera?

Puppy love. Can't beat it. And at least the rain held off yesterday so they weren't little mudballs.

You know, all the rain sorta stinks for the mood. But it sure hasn't hurt my tommy toes.

The grape tommy toes are adorbs. The roma and better big boys are lookin' good. I'm thinking about making some fried green tomatoes. Not that The Husband would eat them. Right now I've got about 15 tommy toes growing and I can't wait for my first home grown bite! And I'm not going to name my plants this year. Learned the hard way that it just makes you feel like a fruit killer. Especially if you take pictures of yourself with the tomatoes beforehand.

Mom's world famous tetrazzini tonight and looking forward to the American Idol/Glee tomorrow. Finale watch party at Lady B's house! It'll be nice to watch it together instead of texting. And there's a new kitten at the Abodey to pet! Big week. Husband's got a game tomorrow so he'll really be missing out. Sure he's very depressed.

Alrighty, Internet... Stay classy out there and don't forget your umbrella.

  1. Hey Beka, you're right. I do get a Google Alert, whenever one of my books is mentioned, but I only respond to a few of them. Since you're in a mood to cast the movie of the book, why not do it on storycasting.com http://www.storycasting.com/author.aspx?id=06ec663f-8eb2-4717-9a8c-f0a3a4da2a47. It's fun and I'd love to see your ideas there.
