Memphis in May BBQ Fest

This past weekend was the busy, fun, saucy mess that is Memphis in May BBQ Fest.  This was our second year on the Beef N' the Chicken team.  Last year - AND this year - Hubs really pulled the weight for us with setting up and tearing down.  But this year I got contribute too!  I did some shirts, labels, and banners for the tent exterior.

Looky there
We had a really nice view from the second level.  There weren't too many tall tents next to us so we were able to look straight out to the river.

The first meal down kicked off the long weekend right.

Meat!  It's what's for dinner.  And lunch.  And snacks.
Over the weekend, I had tons of ribs.  Pulled pork nachos.  Wings and more wings.  Sausage with peppers and onions.  All so tasty.  It was indeed a BBQ fe(a)st!  Interrupted with only a quick break for some Mexican lunch.

Not only did I personally eat well, the team did great.  Ribs came in 11th (which is one of the most popular categories).  Vinegar sauce came in 7th.  And seafood came in 11th.  All of which is a huge deal since there are 250+ teams that may enter the assorted categories.

It was a great coupla days.  I hung out with friends of old and new.  Had great eats.  And, for once, it really wasn't that hot.  It really doesn't get much better, does it?  (Well.  Unless you're a vegetarian.  In which case it's a bad, scary nightmare.)

The sun sets on another BBQ Fest
You couldn't save us a bone?
Western conference game #2 tomorrow!  Until then...
