Better than a Polk in the eye

Monday is Presidents Day. Three... Day... Weekend! And, of course, it's a day to honor the men that have led our country.

This probably won't surprise you, Internet. My President of choice is James K. Polk .


Polk spent his adult life before his presidency in Columbia, TN. AKA, my hometown. And that's where his only standing residence still resides.

Hey, that last sentence sounded sorta smarty, huh? Thanks, Wikipedia.

Try not to be jealous. I've been in it.

James K. Polk... Monday, we salute you.

Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, and New Mexico should be especially grateful. With no Polk, who knows what foreigners might be dictatin' that area now! (Although, California seems to have its share of problems. Eh, neither here nor there though.)

Also, postage stamps seems to have had some real staying power. Well done, President Polk .

You set goals, achieved them, and got out in one term. If it wasn't for the cholera, who knows.

Alrighty, Internet. Have a great weekend. Try not to wear yourself out with the double-duty festivities of both Valentine's and Presidents Day. Remember, it's a 3 day marathon, not a 2 day sprint. Maybe drink some water in the middle of it. Have a nice nap. And stretch. Always, ALWAYS stretch.
