Well, easing the pain of Oprah abandoning us all, this 2 day work week is almost done. Woo-HOO!!!
What a fun holiday kick-off last weekend was. (I know it's now Tuesday but a great weekend deserves a nod. And perhaps a peck on the cheek.) Friday, went to A Christmas Carol 3D and dinner with a couple of the girls. Saturday, Andrew and I played trivia with his fam. And this guy performed. Seemingly spontaneously... But then he pulled out the boom box –
I guess he just lives his life prepared.
Sometimes I really love Memphis.
And you just gotta be impressed by a middle aged man's unabashed love of an overly tight jumpsuit. Actually, ANY man that wears a jumpsuit like that... Heh, well, you just know he's the life of the party.
We came in 8th, by the way. (Those questions were HARD. If it weren't for my Leanne Rimes answer, I'm not sure that they'd even consider inviting me back.)
Trivia was followed by a little karaoke for Posey-4-Shosey's birthday. It was a great crew, out for a night of sangin' & celebratin'! Sunday, dinner with the Johnsons. Good times!
And now the holiday full-court press is ON.
Yay. I'm so ready for Thanksgiving.
Mom's yummy cooking and falling asleep on the floor. (Does everyone pass out on the floor in a turkey coma? Don't judge me... You fancy people that fall asleep on your fancy "couches". Or your fancy "beds".) It should be interestingly different this year. My sister and are both newlyweds so our family has almost doubled over the last month or so! Although Beth won't be in town for the actual day of Thanksgiving so thank goodness for Sugarbear pulling up the slack.
I hope Andrew's ready for another year of this –
And this –And of course this –
Although I'm sure he and dad will get plenty of that football nonsense they seem to enjoy.
That's usually when I'm sleeping on the floor though. So I really can't complain.
Tonight, T-I-G-E-R-S, Tigerssssss. I'm so excited I'm finally going to make a game. Chili cheese dog... You might just be mine. With jalapenos. And onions. Oh, bother... Our seats are in the nose bleeds. That will truly be a test of coordination to see if I could make it to the top without making a mess. (There's much spillage precedence. I had a yogurt incident last week... Well. Enough said.)
Alrighty. In further news, the 'rents and I are going to see The Blind Side this week. (After dining on fine Mexican food. La Fluenta, here we come!) Sandy B, I hope it's everything I hoped for and more.
And I'm going to help my mama with some cooking. Pics to come.
Wear your eatin' pants this week, Internet. Good luck to you in chasing your turkey down.
Aw man my favorite isn't on there! White Christmas! and It's A Wonderful Life :) Have a lovely Thanksgiving! I am thankful for you!
