Don't just Spring it on me

What is up, Bubblelanders? Wow, is it almost April already? I know it's Spring and there's been a time change but March has marched past me quickly.

One day last week, I knew it was Tuesday. By Tuesday afternoon, I thought it was Wednesday. As you may have guessed, last week was long.

Before I get too ahead of myself though, some quick pics...

I totally work out... Look at my mussels!

Mmmmm, simmery tomato, onion and... Other stuff sauce

Mussels! I ate too many and it made me a little sick
Good times

The Husband ate it up – with green olives even (instead of capers)
Veddy nice

I am loving the Spring weather. Today's a little cool and rainy but it looks like the weekend is going to be faboo. Clear and mid 60s - 70s.

Yes, I am really small-talking about weather right now.

Last weekend was a big ole mess of wet. Saturday, The Husband & I enjoyed the morning thunderstorm with the animals. They put on quite the merry show with intermittent, deceiving times of sweet.

Best friends? So the dog thinks... Claudette bides her time to attack

Saturday was also book club. We discussed Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential which was fantastical. I read it immediately after the last book club though so I had a little trouble remembering the specifics. Plus, I've downed a Harry Potter (#4) and am in the middle of reading a novel (Something Missing by Matthew Dicks). Everything before Voldemort and a cat burglar with a heart of gold became a bit fuzzy.

Nothing though, can erase the memory of Bourdain describing his first oyster. Love at first bite. (Perfect name for a vampire romance novel, btw.)

I tried to think of the moment that I fell in love with a food. I don't think I had that "moment". That epiphany where a whole world opened up. But I do remember going to Williams Seafood in Atlanta when I was little... I think that was the name anyways. I tried to google it and nothing came up. I was swept away both by the fried shrimp and making the most of coloring with the 3 crayon allotment.

I still love to color on paper tablecloths when given the option.

Also this weekend was Spriiiiiiing Cleaniiiiiiiiing! The Husband was a step ahead of me last week. I came home towards the end of the week and he'd done the floors, vacuumed, and washed the bathroom stuff. All without me saying a word about my Spring Cleaning Plans. Well done, Hubs. Well done, indeed!

I got most of my list done. The usual take everything out, clean behind it, and put it back.

For this one moment, all of my spices are neatly facing front
I take a small joy from this
Much like Amelie's mother taking everything out of her purse and putting it back

Overall, the house is Spring fresh. Although there is still a little left. We have one of those Fibber McGee and Molly closets in the guest room. That might take a full day alone so I saved that for this weekend.

And Sunday night my reward was dinner at Kooky Canuck's (formerly Bigfoot) and a Grizzlies game.

Like, errrr, myself

So, that's pretty much it. Not a whole lot going on the last couple weeks other than working and running around. It was nice to keep it in last weekend and just clean, hang out with the locals at home, and get to bed at a decent hour.

Yes, Bubblers. I just wrote and entire blog about weather, cleaning, and book club. Stay tuned for next time when I talk about knitting, show pictures of my grandchildren, and recommend wicker purses for the Spring.

Just kidding. It's almost time for gardening... Until then!
