Go ahead... You can grill me

Well, I can go no further without saying – since you've seen me last Internet, my life has changed. Last week, one of my favorite places, the land of Amazon.com, sent me a STOVETOP GRILL!!!!

Of course, I did pay for it

I put my meat knowledge to use and we had steaks last week. They were gorgeous!

Hello, new & working meat thermometer... I love you

And the finished product –

With a compound Gorgonzola butter

That stovetop thing smoked up the whole entire house and it still smelled like steaks the next day. Even in the shower. But it was all worth it! More fun to come with that one. I'm seeing chicken breasts and veggies in our near future. Although I need to get a kitchen fan or something because I think The Husband could get pretty annoyed with the smoked up house in the near future.

I also took my massively flea-bitten basement kitty to the vet. She's highly allergic to fleas apparently and they kept her overnight. I was full of shame and tried to buy her love with a new scratching post.

That's a kitty stank-eye if I ever did see one

No visible way to escape

Smells like dogs too

But just look at that sweet face... That could possibly have been contemplating my death

While the vet kept her, we massively flea bombed the basement. Horace was kind enough to let Sugarbear come over while we the bombs did their destruction.

Her reflection makes her introspective

Picked up Claudette the next day and I'm happy to say, the cat is settling in nicely to her new guest room digs. The dog is enjoying playing with her and I think Claude is enjoying taunting her. I'm just glad she's still got her claws because I think I saw the dog try to chomp her leg off yesterday... Couple of scratches will teach her. Oh, the soap opera that is pet ownership! Anyhoo, after all the flea drama we had last week and I'm pleased to say we've been clean ever since.

Friday, Horace and Miss H came over and we played darts in the garage. It was such a nice evening for it. Still a little warm but not suffocating like it's been. Saturday, our friends in Millington had us over to cookout and watch fireworks. The food was SO good. (Grilled pork tenderloin, grilled asparagus, grilled kabobs, and grilled potatoes. All with a patriotic cake for dessert! Which was not in fact grilled.) And the fireworks were great too. Sunday, was an all day shindig and Mr. & Mrs. Bliz's house. There was a hot dog eating contest, a corn throw, and a vicious 4-square competition. MASSIVE funness there. And I didn't even mention the ribs!!!

They were delicious.

We won't get into The Husband's showing at the hotdog eating competition... I love him no matter how many hot dogs he eats. Heh.

Monday, lazed around on the couch, ate Chinese delivery, and watched 450 hours of junk I had DVR'd.

All in all, a great weekend. I'm so grateful to live in a country where I was free to have all that fun!

And now for a short week... The Hubs and Horace have a Hoopfamily game tonight so big basketballin' ups to the fellas. Don't forget to use your muscles! Book Club this weekend. And grocery shopping in between!

See you soon, Internet. Well, if I can see you through all the smoke in my house. Seriously, need to get a fan...
