I like to skim the internet on my phone. Sometimes, I hear a noise in the other room and I jump up because I think it's my ringer. But no, I've actually got my phone in my hand, cuz I've been reading on it.
Yup.
And yes. That's the whole story.
Speaking of things that make you jump, how 'bout them Fraggles?!
So I couldn't sleep the other night and I was watching Cake Boss on TLC. They were making a Sesame Street cake. Which, obviously, leads the mind to Jim Henson. To Fraggles...
I heart Fraggles. When I was a kid, Fraggle Rock only came on HBO. (Which, in light of their recent programming, is seriously weird.) So my grandma would tape that and I would watch it on summer (or perhaps Thanksgiving) trips. (Sidenote, those VHS tapes lasted a long time. I was able to run them until a couple years ago.)
But, as I laid there, thinking about this and that, I had a lot of contemplation about the Fraggles and their many stories that had an effect on my life.
Gobo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober, and Red.
Hey, Internet, you remember that one episode where Wembley was on that "game show" with Convincing John and couldn't make any decisions. But then he learned a valuable lesson about making decisions?
Or that one time, they moved the Marjory Trash Heap? And then her personality changed? So they kept moving the heap until she came back?
Or the blob that was eating Doozers? Until they made it laugh so hard all the Doozers spilled out of it?
Or that one time Uncle Traveling Matt came to our human world (outer space to them) and was watching two of us silly creatures chewing bubble gum and saw them blow bubbles. So he thought gum caused their tongues to blow up and explode.
There were valuable life lessons on that show. None of which are listed above.
There are rumors they're making a Fraggle movie. I just hope they respect that wonderful Fraggle legacy.
Dance your cares away today, Internet. For tomorrow may bring a wintry mix.
I love the Fraggles! That's too funny that you mentioned them here, because this weekened, when I was going through the instant Netflix available picks, I saw that they had 2 or 3 seasons of Fraggle Rock on there and was highly tempted to watch them!
