Where the Sugarbear roams...

What a beauty-ful day today! Since it's November, I wouldn't mind if it was a little cooler but, hey, I'll take this!

Last night was the Southern Living party out at Brittney's Abodey. The food was great. An apple tartlet, bacon muffins that tasted sort of quichey. And shrimps! My type of food ;) The stuff was pretty. But having just gotten married, we've got a lot of plattery-type things at the moment. (I actually have two cake dishes. I'm a grown-up! Cake stands define your grown-up-itude, it's true.)

Got me to thinking how much I love our house and doing all the decorating, "homey" stuff. I've rented for the last 11 years and moved around constantly. It is so wonderful to put things in the attic and know that I won't have to move them any time soon. I don't have to repack all my breakables and scrounge around for boxes AGAIN. (I used boxes from when I worked at Hallmark for at least 4 moves and then they finally gave out. That's quality.) In fact, we don't have to ever move again unless we want to. Yay!!! No repainting or walk-throughs. No loud neighbors, tramping around for hours starting at 3am. No one charging me money for being a pet owner. A yard instead of a balcony or concrete parking lot.

Home ownership. It's the best.

Until something breaks.

And it's definitely interesting living with a man. I didn't realize how girlie my taste was until living with my extremely un-girlie hubby panda. Anything flowery is pretty much out. Some colors, like a nice sage green, are bad. But a limey'er color is ok...

I haven't really found rhyme or reason to it yet.

But we've found a good compromise to be brown. And circles/squares/shapes/etc. are good replacements for flowers.

Ahhhh, nesting. Good times. I wish people didn't call it nesting though... That's sorta weird.

Happy Wednesday, you classy Internet, you. Top Chef tonight. Time for Eli to pack his knives and go!
