Book Club was last night. The book was not good. (Notes to Self: A Compilation of Depressing Short Stories that We Thought Would Be Funny. Wrong.) But the company was great and the shrimp tacos - once again - did not disappoint. Next book is going to be “Loving Frank,” an enthralling first novel by Nancy Horan. Looks enthralling indeed.
Didn't end up making it to the Tigers game because the service was rather slow at the Happy Mexican. Instead I ended up hanging out with my good friend Tryko. I found out she does not read this blog and I will now use this as a forum to air any dirty laundry and exploits of dubious nature.
Just kiddin', Internet. Heh, although I will keep that in my back pocket ...
Anyhoo, Top Chef on Wednesday - Spoiler alert!!!
Robin is GONE. And if Jen's not careful, I do believe she'll be next. She's been phoning it in for a while. I never thought I'd think Eli would do better than her but, I have to admit, that winning quickfire of his did look delishious.
Fried Egg Reuben Benedict with Thousand Island Hollandaise Sauce
Ok, Eli. Fair enough. I would eat that. Too bad you followed it up with this mess -
Caramel Apple Peanut Soup with Popcorn Raspberry Froth
I don't care if your theme was "Carnival". Nasty is nasty.
Speaking of nasty, Jen... WHY????
S.O.S. Creamed Chipped Beef with Toast and Potatoes
My mom claims this probably tasted good. I claim, if I don't want to look at it, I dunno wannoo eat it. But I have zero experience with beef of the chipped nature so I'll move on.
Kevin, you rock. But this is not medium rare...
Steak and Eggs with Creme Fraiche, Aged Cheddar, and Green Onion
It's pretty... And looks like it was still breathing 5 minutes before it hit the plate.
I would have enjoyed eating Lil Volt's take on a buffalo wing the most, I think -
Boneless Chicken Wing Confit with Curry and Blue Cheese Disc
He seems like a piece of beef jerky. But he sure seems to know what he's doing!
Whatever... Kevin, I'm pullin' for you.
Project Runway Season Finale Part I should have a mention. But we barely got a peek. I'm ready for next week to see the whole collection.
Shoutouts to Brittney and Blizair on their test taking today. I can't imagine studying now. (My brain is pickled in Bravo shows.) But they got their learn on and I know they rocked it. Kudos, smarties!!!
Well, that's enough for now Internet. Think I'll go take a bath and continue reading on The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larson. Wunderbar!
Have fun tonight, Internet. Keep it classy and don't forget to rock...
Nice Top Chef Breakdown...I'm lovin' it! I sure hope I was a smarty!
